Adobe Photoshop CS2

Photoshop CS2 is a powerful and flexible photo-editing program by Adobe. Participants of the six-part workshop series will learn much of the basic knowledge they will need to effectively utilize the program. No prior knowledge or use is required to attend the workshops. Below is the description for each part.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Part 1
Basic Introduction to Photoshop -- In part one, participants will learn the basics of the program starting with the program interface. This is one of the most important features and is critical to learning the program. After learning the interface, participants will learn about drawing using vector graphics, cropping and the basics of layer management.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Part 2
Manipulating Layers -- In part two, participants will learn how to transform existing items with layers, apply layer styles over the layer, use the pen tool to both draw and make selections, and apply basic overlays and filters over an entire layer. These changes are used to enhance existing parts of the image. The workshop will conclude with the Resize Image Wizard which is used to automatically create and resize a duplicate version of the active image.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Part 3
In Part Three, attendees will learn practical skills for editing and retouching pictures that have sustained damages. This includes pictures that have faded or peeled and cracked. Instructions on how to fix the "red-eye" effect associated with flash photography and removing blemishes from a picture will also be covered.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Part 4
In Part Four, attendees will learn how to combine several images to create a single landscape image. The channel mixer will be introduced and used to crop out high detail images which would otherwise be difficult to crop using other cropping methods such as the selection tools and the pen tool.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Part 5
In Part Five, attendees will learn how to manipulate a variety of filters that can create both the real-world or "special" visual effects. Some of the features introduced in this part are filter gallery, liquify filter, freeze masking, and clipping mask.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Part 6
In Part Six, attendees will learn how to put together an image composition utilizing various skills learned from Parts one to five. Instructions on how to make a brush set from the pen tool, brush tool, and shape tool will also be covered.
